Danang Fine Arts Museum

This guide to the Danang Fine Arts Museum follows an unusual top-floor gallery devoted to fish sauce, with presses and jars from the coastal village of Nam O displayed beside wood carvings from the Co Tu and Bahnar peoples of the inland mountains. Downstairs, it turns to how silk and lacquer painters have rendered the Han River sliding through the city, building up their scenes in layers of resin and crushed eggshell. Along the way it stops at a bronze relief near the entrance depicting the region's prize-winning artworks. Worth pausing on each floor, since the museum's real subject only comes together by the end.
