This guide to Aquatic Park Cove in San Francisco opens in 1976, when someone painted over an entire mural-covered room inside the ship-shaped bathhouse on the beach. That cove has been a stronghold for cold-water swimmers from the Dolphin Club since 1877, and the bathhouse itself went up in 1939, decorated floor to ceiling by WPA artists Hilaire Hiler and Richard Ayer.
