LoanDepot Park

This guide to loanDepot Park in Miami centers on the outfield sculpture by pop artist Red Grooms, commissioned for nearly two and a half million dollars in public money when the stadium opened as Marlins Park in 2012. Grooms based its colors on 1950s Florida, the jazzy motel signs of old Daytona Beach, wiring palm trees, marlins and seagulls to burst into motion behind the outfield wall. Fans mostly loved it; critics called it a garish, publicly funded cartoon.
