HFBF Honolulu Farmers’ Market

This guide to the HFBF Honolulu Farmers' Market traces the Wednesday-evening market back to 1948, when a group of Windward Oahu farmers, frustrated at what middlemen took from their crops, formed what became the Hawaii Farm Bureau. It follows the ground itself through the old Ward Estate plantation era and the 1964 building of the Honolulu International Center, later renamed for the mayor who championed it. Concerts, boxing matches and graduations once filled this same parking lot.
