About this audio guide
This guide to the LBJ Presidential Library in Austin turns on President Lyndon Johnson's favorite practical joke, a floating car he used to startle visitors at his Texas ranch. You'll meet Joseph Califano, a White House aide who fell for it, and hear how the prank reveals a side of Johnson the museum's exhibits, like the replica Oval Office and the animatronic president, don't usually show. A plain tip: start upstairs, where the joking version of Johnson still holds court.
