Austin Sign

About this audio guide

This guide to the Greetings from Austin postcard mural in Austin follows sign painter Todd Sanders, who helped create the wall in the late nineteen nineties with fellow artists Rory Skagen and Bill Brakkage. It centers on one July morning in twenty nineteen when Sanders found his own cheerful artwork defaced, and the choice he and Skagen made about what to do next. Look closely at the lettering and you can still spot the seams where old paint was scrubbed away.
