Hammonds House Museum

This guide to the Hammonds House Museum in Atlanta follows Otis Hammonds, an Atlanta anesthesiologist who spent his off hours hunting down paintings that mainstream museums had overlooked. It traces his training at Meharry Medical College, his nineteen seventy-nine purchase of this Eastlake Victorian house on Peeples Street, and the African American and Caribbean art he filled its rooms with.
