Drottninggatan

This guide walks Drottninggatan in Stockholm from the water at Riksbron up an old glacial ridge to the small park at its northern end, tracing how the street itself climbs a landform that once ran across the whole district before builders leveled it. It centers on the astronomer Pehr Wilhelm Wargentin, who put an observatory on that surviving high ground in 1753 and began a daily weather log in 1756, kept without a break until his death in 1783.
