Hira Cultural District

This guide to the Hira Cultural District in Mecca starts in the year 610, with a forty-year-old merchant sitting alone in a cave high on Jabal al-Nour, the Mountain of Light, as he had done on many quiet nights before to get away from the noise of the marketplace below. Nobody around him was expecting anything unusual. The guide follows what happened to him in that cave, and how his wife Khadija and her Christian cousin Waraqah responded when he came down the mountain shaken. It also walks through the district's Revelation Exhibition and Quran Museum built at the mountain's base today.
