This guide to Captain Miša's Mansion on Belgrade's Student Square follows Miša Anastasijević, a salt trader and one of the richest men in nineteenth-century Serbia, and the palace he began in the eighteen fifties for his daughter Sara and her husband, a grandson of Karađorđe. It touches the feud between Serbia's two royal houses and the business friendships tangled up in it. Stand facing the main entrance, where two stone figures flank the door.
