About this audio guide
This guide to Gondolania in Doha's Villaggio Mall pairs the canal ride's Venetian scenery with the story of the fire that broke out one floor above it, in the Gympanzee nursery, on the 28th of May 2012. You'll hear how the blaze spread through the mall's upper level and who went in trying to reach the children trapped inside. Ride slowly — you pass directly beneath the wing where it happened, though nothing marks it today.
