Flag Plaza

This guide to Flag Plaza in Doha follows the walkway of hand-carved limestone benches beneath the Corniche's row of flags, and how they got there: designer Najla El Zein sent the stone to a workshop in Lebanon, where artisans spent months shaping it by hand before it crossed the sea to Qatar. She named each curve for a different way people meet — acquaintance, friendship, familiarity among them.
