Otwarty Jazdów

This guide to Otwarty Jazdow in Warsaw opens on a candlelit alley in December 1981, when Warsaw's young Lennon fans renamed a muddy path here after the musician killed in New York a year before. It follows the wooden cottages themselves back to 1945, prefabricated cabins Finland handed over as war reparations and bolted together in weeks to house the architects rebuilding Warsaw, later home to poets, actors and musicians. Around ninety of the small houses went up here in those first postwar weeks.
