San Isidro

This guide to the San Isidro olive grove in Lima starts with an axe scar cut into one of its oldest trees during Peru's war for independence, then rewinds to 1560, when the city's mayor, Antonio de Rivera, sailed home with about a hundred olive saplings and only three survived the voyage.
