Church of St. Vitus

This guide to the Church of St. Vitus, high on its hill above Gornja Lastva near Tivat, starts from a gap in the record: a stone chapel first written down in Kotor's notary books in the fourteenth century, and said locally to be far older. It follows the storm saint it was built for, a seventeenth-century bishop's visit, and the villagers who kept climbing up here. Best heard standing by the walls, looking out over Tivat Bay toward the Verige strait.
