Njeguši

This guide to Njeguši, the mountain village above Kotor, starts in a December smokehouse with the salt, beech smoke and mountain air behind its famous ham. It follows the Montenegrin women who, in the early twentieth century, walked the steep donkey trail down to Kotor's bazaar to trade. Best heard standing on the village road, within sight of the roadside stalls.
