Church of St. Eustachius

This guide to the Church of St. Eustachius in Dobrota, just outside Kotor, starts on an autumn day in eighteen twenty-four when digging began beside a Baroque church that Venetian designs had raised decades earlier. It follows a parish waiting on a bell tower, a family bequest, and a foundry far across the Adriatic in Padua. Best heard standing at the foot of the tower, where you can look straight up at it.
