Manastir Stanjevići

This guide to Stanjevići Monastery, in the hills above Budva, is about the stones themselves: a church raised with Russian money in the early seventeen-hundreds and a medieval Crnojević castle refitted as monks' quarters. It follows the prince-bishop Danilo, the assembly of seventeen ninety-eight, and the years Austrian soldiers kept watch from these walls. Best heard on the terrace, facing the church.
