Museum of Women - Women's Museum

This guide to the Museum of Women in Marrakesh follows Nizar Gartit, a twenty-three-year-old with a history degree who kept noticing the same gap touring the city's museums as a teenager: exhibits built almost entirely around men. It traces the doors that closed on his pitch until he found a partner willing to buy a building instead, tucked into the Souk Jeld quarter a stone's throw from the Ben Youssef madrasa. The opening show, in 2018, gathered photographs, everyday objects and traditional costumes across three floors.
