Kanazawa Yuwaku Yumeji-kan

This guide to the Kanazawa Yuwaku Yumeji-kan follows Taisho-era illustrator Takehisa Yumeji, whose soft-eyed drawings of women became famous across postcards, magazine covers and kimono cloth as the Yumeji style beauty. It traces his working partnership with his first wife Tamaki, who sold his early sketches from a Tokyo postcard shop, and the storefront the divorced pair opened together in 1914 before it failed within two years. He left for Kyoto in 1916, the same year the shop closed for good.
