Centro Internazionale di Fotografia Scavi Scaligeri

This guide to the Centro Internazionale di Fotografia in Verona's underground Scavi Scaligeri counts sixty-seven photography exhibitions hung against Roman stone between 1996 and 2015, four a year like clockwork, before something breaks the rhythm. It traces that break to restoration work beginning May 11, 2015 on the Palazzo del Capitanio overhead, and to the final show on view when the lights went out, a retrospective of photographer Tina Modotti.
