Ohel Moed Synagogue

Ohel Moed Synagogue's guide traces back to 1923, when two merchants from Aden bought a plot in young Tel Aviv meaning only to build houses, until the city's Sephardi chief rabbi asked them to fund a house of prayer instead. Architect Yosef Berlin spent eight years shaping the arches and sky-blue dome you see today, and the underground fighters of the Irgun and Lehi later used the building as a hideout under British rule.
