Kdumim Square

This guide to Kdumim Square in Old Jaffa layers a legend with a dig: sailors once claimed the mythical princess Andromeda was chained to a rock just offshore and rescued by the hero Perseus, and the square's underground visitor center still tells that story. Above it stands Saint Peter's Church, raised by Franciscan monks in the late eighteen hundreds on the ruins of a Crusader fortress.
