Eyal Ofer Pavilion for Contemporary Art

This guide to the Eyal Ofer Pavilion for Contemporary Art in Tel Aviv opens on its founding night in January 1959, when cosmetics magnate Helena Rubinstein funded a modest new home for the young Tel Aviv Museum, designed by architects Yaakov Rechter and Dov Karmi. You'll hear how the building held the museum's library, offices and Rubinstein's own private collection for over a decade, and how by the 1980s it had turned into a stage for contemporary art at the edge of Habima Square.
