Chelouch Gallery for Contemporary Art
HaTsorfim St 15, Tel Aviv-Yafo
Contemporary art space inside a restored nineteenth-century Ottoman building on old Jaffa's Goldsmiths Street.
Chelouche Gallery's guide traces its name to Aharon Chelouche, a Jaffa goldsmith and land dealer whose family helped lay out some of Tel Aviv's earliest streets. Curator Nira Itzhaki borrowed the name for a contemporary gallery she opened in 1985, showing artists like William Kentridge and Peter Greenaway from a grand house on Mazeh Street, before its eventual move back into old Jaffa.
