National Museum of Ireland, Collins Barracks

This guide to the National Museum of Ireland at Collins Barracks in Dublin starts on the lawn out front, a mass grave known as Croppies Acre for the rebels of 1798 buried there without coffins. From construction under Thomas de Burgh in 1701 through the court martial of Wolfe Tone inside its walls, it traces two centuries in which Irish rebels only ever passed through these gates as prisoners.
