House of Music Hungary

This guide to the House of Music Hungary follows architect Sou Fujimoto's decision, when he won the commission for a new music venue inside Budapest's City Park, to refuse a wall between building and forest and instead design a roof punched through with openings for the park's real trees. It traces how that idea carried indoors, through thousands of suspended bronze-toned leaves hung from a hidden steel lattice, and a five-year construction that opened in 2022 with Hungary's prime minister at the doors.
