Victoria Park

This guide to Victoria Park in Hong Kong follows the candlelight vigils held here every June 4th from 1989 on, remembering the students killed in Beijing's Tiananmen Square, in a park reclaimed from the sea in the 1950s. It traces the bronze Queen Victoria statue that gives the park its name, melted down by Japanese occupiers in the Second World War and later recovered.
