Fine Arts Building

This guide to the Fine Arts Building in Chicago traces its start as the Studebaker Building, an 1887 carriage factory where finished carriages were lowered to showrooms below. It follows developer Charles Curtiss's pitch to turn the horsepower factory into a home for painters, sculptors and musicians, and the gutting of the center into the six-story Venetian Court.
