Tayelet Haas Promenade

This guide to the Tayelet Haas Promenade in Jerusalem follows landscape architect Lawrence Halprin back to a hillside he remembered gleaning wheat on as a boy, and the single instruction Mayor Teddy Kollek gave him for it after the 1967 reunification. The terrace's stone and arches echo the buried aqueduct beneath it and the Old City walls across the valley. Best walked slowly, with the Old City skyline kept in view.
