Buddy Guy's Legends in Chicago began one block south in 1989, when Buddy Guy leased a room inside a 1910 building after already losing his hold on the Checkerboard Lounge, the South Side club he had co-owned in the 1970s. The guide follows the move to this corner in 2010, when Guy changed the deal that had burned him before, spending two hundred thousand dollars just to wire the new room for sound. It traces Muddy Waters' parting words to Guy before his death in 1983, and what still hangs on these walls today.
