Finnish Aviation Museum

This guide to the Finnish Aviation Museum follows the Tuesday Club, a small band of retired volunteers led by former car builder Matti Patteri who meet weekly to rebuild a Myrsky, Finland's own wartime fighter-bomber, from little more than a wooden skeleton. It traces why Finland had to design and build the plane alone during the Second World War, and how slow the restoration has been since the club took it on in 2013. It also places that project inside the museum's own origin in the 1970s, when volunteers built Finland's national aviation collection largely on their own hours.
