Cable factory

This guide to the Cable Factory in Helsinki traces a debt: after World War Two, Finland paid war reparations to the Soviet Union partly in cable wound on steel drums at this factory. It follows Verner Weckman, Finland's first Olympic wrestling gold medalist turned engineer, who ran the plant through the reparations years and oversaw construction of what became, for decades, the largest building in Finland.
