Bent Pyramid

Something clearly went wrong partway up this pyramid at Dahshur, and the guide asks you to look up and see the exact angle where it happened. It sets the scene around 4,600 years ago, early in Sneferu's fourth-dynasty reign, and connects this site to his earlier attempt at Meidum, laying out a 1974 theory from physicist Kurt Mendelssohn about what the builders here may have learned. Along the way it points out the two separate entrances on the north and west faces and the chambers behind them.
