Eurotower

This guide to the Eurotower in Frankfurt opens on New Year's Eve 1998, when the newly formed European Central Bank fixed the exchange rates binding eleven currencies into the euro inside this forty-story tower, three years before anyone could hold a euro coin or note. It traces the building's earlier life as a 1970s headquarters for a regional cooperative bank, designed by architect Richard Heil in the skyline nicknamed Mainhattan.
