U Fleků

This guide to U Fleku in Prague follows a tavern with beer recorded on this site since 1499, and traces how it got its name in 1762 from an owner called Jakub Flekovsky. It also tells how four Croatian students, celebrating after a football match in 1911, dreamed up a club for their hometown of Split in this very hall, the team that became Hajduk. Look for the small plaque on the wall marking the spot where that friendship began.
