National Technical Museum

This guide follows Jan Kašpar, a law student who quit his studies, bought a secondhand wood-and-canvas Blériot monoplane, and taught himself to fly it, then in 1911 pointed it from Pardubice toward Prague on a route no one had covered by air, with an unreliable engine and no radio or reliable map. It also traces the National Technical Museum's own building, seized by the occupying Ministry of Post the moment it was finished in 1941. Look up for the fragile plane still hanging in the hall.
