Museum of Communism

This guide tells how an American expatriate, Glenn Spicker, spent about twenty eight thousand dollars buying up relics of Czechoslovak communism after the Iron Curtain fell, then opened a museum on the upper floor of an eighteenth-century Prague palace already shared with a casino, above a McDonald's. You'll meet filmmaker Jan Kaplan, who had fled the country in 1969, and hear how he built the exhibit as a three-act story split between propaganda, everyday hardship and fear.
