Babies

This guide follows Prague's Babies, David Černý's faceless bronze infants with barcodes for faces, from their 1994 debut at a Chicago museum to their climb up the Communist-era Žižkov Television Tower in 2000. It traces how a six-month installation became permanent after the city missed the sculptures once they came down, and how this second bronze brood, cast in 2008, ended up at ground level on Kampa Island.
