Bijiashan Park

This guide to Bijiashan Park in Shenzhen explains its name first: three peaks lined up like the prongs of a calligrapher's brush-holder, or bijia. From the highest peak it looks back at Shenzhen's transformation from a 1980s fishing town to a city of millions by the park's 1999 opening, and at the decision to keep this mountain green as the towers rose around it.
