Guangzhou Huanghuagang Commemoration Park （Southeast Gate 2）

This guide to the Huanghuagang Commemoration Park in Guangzhou opens before dawn in 1911, with a 24-year-old revolutionary named Lin Juemin writing his wife one last letter before joining roughly 120 rebels in a doomed strike on the Qing viceroy's residence here. It follows what became of the dead afterward, and a fellow revolutionary, Pan Dawei, who refused to let them lie in an unmarked grave and renamed the hill for a flower that blooms hardiest through frost. Stand at the archway and look for the four characters carved above it.
