CN Tower

This guide to the CN Tower in Toronto opens in April 1975, above an unfinished tower, where a red helicopter named Olga is fused to the antenna she has spent weeks lifting into place. On this final run, the boom equipment gripping her seizes shut and workers scramble below with cutting torches while her engine keeps burning fuel. You will also hear about the concrete inspector killed by a falling sheet of plywood, and the ironworkers bolted to the frame a thousand feet up for extra hazard pay.
