ICC Sydney

This guide to ICC Sydney opens in 2012, when the New South Wales government announced it would demolish the award-winning Sydney Convention and Exhibition Centre, barely twenty five years after it opened on this harbour. The building's own architects, John Andrews and Philip Cox, fought the decision, and the Australian Institute of Architects joined them, asking why a building that had won the country's top prize for public architecture had to be flattened at all. None of the objections changed the government's mind.
