Hofburg

This guide to the Hofburg in Vienna follows Empress Elisabeth of Austria, the shy Bavarian teenager who arrived as a reluctant bride in 1854 and spent decades resisting this palace's suffocating court life through fasting, hours-long rides and tightly laced corsets.
