Xul Solar Museum

This guide to the Xul Solar Museum in Buenos Aires traces the painter Jorge Luis Borges called his closest friend, a self-taught astrologer who spent decades painting invented cosmologies and inventing two languages of his own in this Palermo house. After his death in 1963, his widow founded a foundation and gave an architect named Pablo Tomas Beitia an almost impossible brief: build a museum out of his paintings, not around them. Beitia spent five and a half years on the project, working with a structural engineer and a restorer from his own family.
