Palermo Soho

This guide to Palermo Soho in Buenos Aires follows the bar El Taller, opened on a plaza locals called Serrano in 1985 by the painter Eugenio Ramirez, and the neighborhood of immigrant tenement courtyards that surrounded it. Ramirez and his circle began renaming the streets after writers, a campaign that turned Serrano into Plaza Cortazar in 1994 and the street outside into Jorge Luis Borges two years later. A modest craft fair licensed on the plaza in 2002 started with just thirty-eight stalls.
